A shipment of drugs from shipment from the Netherlands seized by the Maldives Customs Service in a search last week has now been handed over the Maldives Police Service.

The Customs said in a statement on Sunday that the three parcels containing the substances have been weighed and transferred to the police for investigation.

The three parcels contain total MDMA of 43 grams, 21 as ecstasy and 19 in tablets, as well as 10 blotters with 14 grams of LSD.

The police have not yet revealed any further details about the shipment, although cases such as this have been investigated and prosecuted without foreign suppliers being found.

The Criminal Court on Monday released a 37-year-old man that the police’s intelligence unit had found to be involved in trafficking cannabis, and found with about seventy packets as well cellophane.
