Ahmed Sameer, president of the government council in Kamadhoo island of Baa atoll, has been arrested.

RaajjeMV understands that Sameer was arrested as per a Criminal Court order, although the police has refused to give any further detail due to it being an ongoing investigation.

This is Sameer’s second arrest since attaining his position, he was arrested in 2018 over drug charges.

Sameer was active in former president Abdulla Yameen’s unsuccessful bid for re-election.
