The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) is willing to assist the Maldives accomplish its development goals, says chairman Ahmed Bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb.

Al Khateeb met with Maldivian Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid, who left for Riyadh on Wednesday. 

Minister Shahid and his delegation met with representatives of the SFD and briefed them ongoing and planned development projects in the Maldives.

Minister Shahid had on Wednesday met with Saudi’s Acting Foreign Minister Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Assaf and Minister for Commerce and Investment, Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi.

A number of matters on cooperation between both countries was discussed at these meetings, including plans to hold a business symposium in Riyadh for Saudi and Maldivian organisations.
