Maldives is participating in the BIT international travel exhibition in Italy.

The tourism fair is being held in Milan from February 10 to 12.

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) is participating in the fair to exhibit Maldives as a tourist destination, along with 17 representatives from 10 local tourism companies.

MMPRC managing director Thoyyib Mohamed is leading the Maldives’ delegation.

MMPRC stated that the fair is a ‘golden opportunity’ for Maldives to further develop its tourism industry and relationship with the international community.

BIT is an event organized by Fiera Milano, which since 1980 has brought tourists and travelers from all over the world to Lombardy.

The first day is open to the general public while the other two days are reserved to industry professionals, tour operators and buyers.

MMPRC officials will be meeting with Italian tour operators and experts to expand the market in the country.

Maldives stall in the fair showcases large photos that accentuates the country’s natural beauty.

Italian tourists mainly visit Maldives for honeymoon, snorkeling, and rest and relaxation.
