Tourism Ministry assessing all local tourist facilities

The Ministry of Tourism has on Thursday begun inspecting facilities that host and accommodate tourists in the Maldives.
Minister Ali Waheed told a press conference on Tuesday that the inspection will begin on February 7th, and is to be completed within seven months.
Minister Waheed said that the inspection will evaluate the conditions of both staff and guests, as well as safety measures taken at the outlets.
At Tuesday’s conference, the minister said that recent tourist deaths are regrettable and that inspection of the outlets they were accommodated at, had been carried out.
