A child, reportedly diagnosed with autism, has been attacked with a scalding iron in Addu City.

RaajjeMV understands that the Gender and Social Services Ministry, as well as Maldives Police Service, are investigating the attack. 

Reports from the the southernmost city say that the child was attacked while the mother was travelling.

The child was treated at the regional hospital in Hithadhoo for burns in the genitals.
