Ahmed Hassan of Shaviyani Feevah has found the largest ambergris ever spotted in Maldives.

Speaking to RaajjeMV, Feevah Council Vice President Ahmed Adil said that the ambergris weighs 82 kilograms.

Ahmed said he spotted the ambergris while fishing alone and brought it home after tying it up to the boat, since it was too heavy to lift.

He said that he is receiving many calls from potential buyers and that he is working to send a sample to Male’ and sell it.

A white ambergris sells for USD 35 per gram, which is USD 35,000 per kilogram. Therefore, an 82-kilogram white ambergris would sell for USD 2.9 million.
