Faris Maumoon, incumbent MP for the Dhiggaru constituency, will be competing in the upcoming parliamentary elections for the north-Machangoalhi constituency.

The parliamentarian announced this through a post on his Twitter account on Friday. Though unconfirmed, Faris is likely to run through the Maumoon Reform Movement (MRM).

A number of candidates are contesting through the MRM, and the movement’s deputy leader Aminath Nadira has announced her decision to contest the south-Mahchangoalhi seat.

MRM has announced its decision to be registered an official party, and is part of the government coalition.
