The temporary biometric clinic for Germany-Schengen Visa has opened at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday morning.
Organized by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Maldives, the clinic will be taking biometric enrollments and documents from applicants who have made prior appointments from 27th to 31st January.
The clinic was organized with the assistance from the government and the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).
The Ministry revealed that they have booked a total of 123 appointments thus far.
The clinic was initially set to be kept open from 27 – 28 January. However, due to increased demand, the ministry decided to extend clinic services till 31January.
While this is the first time the visa application service is being provided in the Maldives, it aims to ease difficulties for Maldivians while applying for visa to travel to Germany, including those who are to participate in the ITB Fair in March 2019.
Issued visas will allow access to travel to all Schengen countries after first traveling to Germany to acquire access to the other countries.
