An officer of the Maldives Police Service

Two individuals have been injured in separate assaults in capital city Malé.

The Maldives Police Service said that both incidents occurred on Friday, with an individual being assaulted while waiting on a road in central Malé.

The victim of the assault is 18-years-old and had not sustained any serious injuries. A 29-year-old was assaulted on Friday evening.

The police are investigating both cases.
