Labour Party to field candidates for parliamentary election
The party will be contesting 10 to 15 constituencies

Maldives Labour and Social Democratic Party has announced that it will be giving tickets for the parliamentary election.
The party announced this at a press conference on Monday evening after it was registered.
Spokesperson Mauroof Zakariyya said they will be giving tickets to interested members, to contest 10 to 15 constituencies, and that their leadership council will be choosing candidates that are aligned with the party’s policies and political leaning.
Mauroof said the Labour Party will also endorse candidates of other parties that are not running against their candidates, if they have integrity and are for the rights of workers.
Adam Shifau is the only one so far to have received a ticket, to contest the Milandhoo seat.
The Labour Party is a center-left party tasked with upholding the rights of workers.
