The Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has announced a five-day certificate course for goalkeeping coaches.
The course was inaugurated on Sunday in capital city Malé, by local club Victory Sports’ vice chairman Mauroof Ahmed, a prominent keeper himself.
An experienced, but yet unidentified, coach with the Asian Football Confederation is to be the instructor at the course.
This is the first such course since 2006; FAM says that this is part of their ongoing effort to increase local involvement in the sport.
FAM has announced a ban on foreign goalkeepers, starting 2020.
