Ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has announced the locations of the ballot boxes the party is to place outside the Maldives, for its primary election on Friday.
According to their website, MDP will be placing ballot boxes in three other countries. They are Sri Lanka, India, and Malaysia.
The ballot box in Sri Lanka is to be placed in Colombo, Dehiwala at Boadi Raja Mw (Perakumba Road), which is the residence of Ahmed Thoriq, the Minister of State for Arts, Culture and Heritage.
The ballot box in India will be in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala at Biverah Hotel and Suites (Pattom Kumarapuram Road), next to the Maldives Consulate.
The box in Malaysia will be in Selangor, Bandar Utama PJ at BU 1/11, which is the residence of Ali Shiyam, the Minister at the President’s Office.
Voting will be from 2:30pm to 8:30pm, Maldives time, for all polling stations except for the one in Malaysia, which will be from 2:30pm to 8:30pm, local time.
279 candidates will be running in the MDP primaries, for which 86,091 members are eligible to vote. A total of 270 ballot boxes will be placed with more than 700 officials at the polling stations.
