Elections Commission discusses logistics for polling at resorts

Discussions were held with Tourism Ministry and MATI

Representatives at the meeting had discussed obstacles during previous elections

The Elections Commission has on Thursday held discussions to place polling stations at local resorts, where staff will vote in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The commission discussed specifics for this with the non-profit Maldives Association of Tourism Industry and the Ministry of Tourism.

Representatives at the meeting had discussed obstacles during previous elections and ways to address them in the upcoming votes; a policy for polling stations at resorts is yet to revealed.

Maldivians will vote in the parliamentary elections on April 6th, and candidates are contesting for 87 constituencies.

Polling stations were set up at only 35 resorts in the presidential elections held last year.
