Tourism Minister Ali Waheed has planned a trip to Fuvahmulah and Addu cities to observe and acknowledge the challenges for the tourism sector in the islands.
A statement released by the Ministry on Tuesday states that the Minister is scheduled to visit Addu and Fuvahmulah cities on the 10th and he is to return on the 12th of January.
The Minister is scheduled to meet with stakeholders in the tourism sector, as well as city and island councils to discuss the current challenges faced in promoting tourism in the islands.
Moreover, Minister Waheed is also set to meet with stakeholders in the business community to hold discussions with them.
Minister Waheed will also be discussing destination promotion as it is an objective of the administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
The Minister will be accompanied by officials of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) and the Tourism Ministry.
