Vice President expresses interest in strengthening ties with Sri Lanka

Maldives Vice President Faisal Naseem and Sri Lankan Ambassador Major General (Retd) B.R.W.M.R.A.B Thoradeniya have expressed interest to further strengthen existing relations between both countries.

This was expressed during a courtesy call paid by the Sri Lankan Ambassador on the Vice President on Monday morning, at the President’s Office.

During the call, Naseem welcomed the Ambassador and expressed good wishes from the people and the government of Maldives to the Sri Lankan people and its government.

The pair further discussed on working together to enhance collaborations in areas that are of common benefit to both countries.

Naseem especially shed light on developing sports like cricket.

Emphasizing the strong bilateral ties that continue to exist between Maldives and Sri Lanka, the pair further noted the benefits of developing tourism sectors in both countries.

They further expressed gratitude to each other for the continuous support shared between the two countries.
