Yameen’s new party to present membership forms on Monday

Former President Abdulla Yameen’s new party, the People’s National Congress, will be presenting over 3,000 membership applications on Monday, says Fonadhoo MP Abdul Raheem Abdulla.

Speaking to RaajjeMV, Abdul Raheem said that minor issues have caused delays in presenting the membership applications and dismissed the ‘unfounded’ rumors that they had been unable to acquire the required number of members.

Abdul Raheem earlier said that they had received the required number of members shortly after being granted approval to form the party.

At least 3,000 membership applications need to be handed over to the Elections Commission (EC) before the party can be registered and hold its first congress.
