Velana International Airport (VIA) has called on all passengers to check-in three hours prior to departure time.
VIA made this appeal via twitter on Saturday morning.
The airport wrote that they are experiencing a “busy travel period” during the holidays, going on to advise all passengers to arrive early and check-in at least three hours prior to time of departure.
VIA further stated that there is a possibility of flights getting delayed due to the busy holiday season.

The year-end holidays have seen a record number of arrivals in 2018, with a record number of private jets having landed at the airport during the last week of December alone.
Moreover, occupancy at Maldives resorts have also reached a 100% following the commencement of the New Year.
