President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has on Thursday appointed a Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs.
Shafiu Ali was appointed to the post on Thursday morning.
Shafiu, who has a Bachelor of Teaching in Secondary from the Maldives National University (MNU), has previously served in the education sector as well.
As such, Shafiu served as a secondary teacher as well as a higher secondary teacher in Gn. Atoll Education Centre where he also served as leading teacher.
The newly appointed Deputy Minister has also serves as the Principle of Ideal School of Fuvahmulah City.
With this appointment, there are currently 49 individuals serving as Deputy Ministers.
