Vice President Faisal handed over the letters of appointment to the board members

The government has established a Health Promotion Advisory Board tasked with advocating for and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Vice President Faisal Naseem handed over the letters of appointment to the board members at a ceremony at Hotel Jen on Tuesday.

The board will encompass the fields of health, sports, and the media.

The board members are: Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health Khadeeja Abdul Samad, Director General of Public Health Maimoona Abubakr, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Education Hussain Rasheed Moosa, Maldivian Medical Association member Dr. Niyasha Ibrahim, Maldives Media Council member Azmee Ali, Maldives Olympic Committee member Marzooq Ali, and Ahmed Raashid representing Maldives Broadcasting Commission.

At the ceremony, the Vice President also inaugurated the government’s awareness program on harmful substances and products such as tobacco, energy drinks, and soft drinks, according to President Ibrahim Solih’s 100-day pledge.
