MDP will win a clear majority in parliament: Nasheed
Nasheed said the 19th parliament will be an exemplary one
Nasheed is also vying for a seat in parliament
Former President Mohamed Nasheed has said that ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) will win a clear majority in parliament.
Nasheed said this on Monday night while speaking at a ceremony to kick-off the campaign of Ahmed Fairooz, who is contesting in the MDP primary election for the South-Mahchangolhi seat.
Nasheed, the leader of MDP, said that the 19th parliament will be an exemplary one exceeding any previous parliament and that he will also be an exemplary member representing Central Mahchangolhi constituency.
He also said that the 19th parliament will be a new beginning and will consist of members who will not talk of bags of money inside the chamber.
He added that fulfilling President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s pledges is the party’s aim and that it would be harder to fulfill those pledges if MDP fails to win the majority.
