A loss of MVR 50,000 has been incurred due to the fire that broke out in H. Neat Villa’s kitchen on Friday night, says the owner of the house.
The owner revealed that officials from the City Council, Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) as well as the National Disaster Management Center (NDMC) had inspected the house upon receiving reports of the fire.
RaajjeMV understands that the kitchen has been left untouched, as the NDMC had stated that they will be making an assessment of the damages caused.
Hisaan Hassan, Project Director and Media Coordinator at the NDMC said that the house has been vacated until they get a clearance and that a team from the center and MNDF had conducted an assessment of the house on Saturday.
The owner of the house has confirmed that a team from MNDF’s Fire and Rescue as well as NDMC had completed the assessment of the house. They had made a list of damaged property as well as inspected the walls for dents.
RaajjeMV understands that the fire broke out at around 07:30 pm on Friday on the second floor of the building due to a gas leak and has left the kitchen area beyond use, with its equipment and some electronic devices damaged.
However, none of the residents, totaling 10, had been injured,
The owner went on to reveal that the residents of the house have been provided temporary accommodation and food, expressing his gratitude to the assistance from the City Council.
