The Maldives Media Council (MMC) has elected members to 14 vacant posts, including a new president and vice president.

Local online newspaper ‘Hafthaa Online’ writer Hidhayath Allah and Ahmed Azif from the Sun Media Group were elected president and vice president, respectively.

The senior officials were elected to their posts through an internal vote from council members.

A total of 95 different media organizations had participated in the vote.
