Adhaalath Party has given its first ticket for the Parliamentary Election scheduled for 2019, to Member of Parliament for Makunudhoo constituency, Anara Naeem.
Adhaalath Party’s Media Committee Chair Ali Nazeer revealed that they had reached the decision after evaluating the MP’s overall performance during the 18th tenure. She had been given the ticket to contest for the same constituency for Parliament’s 19th tenure.
Nazeer further revealed that Anara is the first member to have received the party ticket, so far.
“We gave her the ticket since she is a woman and after evaluating her work as member for Makunudhoo constituency during the past tenure as an encouragement. The committee decided to grant her the ticket also because of her keen interest in politics” said Nazeer.
Anara is also the only member currently representing the party in Parliament.
Other members will be granted their tickets after specific regulations are formed on granting tickets for the 14 constituencies Adhaalath Party will be competing for in the Parliament Election scheduled for March next year.
AP is to compete for seats in Kelaa constituency, Vaikaradhoo constituency, north-Kulhudhuffushi constituency, Makunudhoo constituency, Inguraidhoo constituency, Kaashidhoo constituency, Mahibadhoo constituency, Mulaku constituency, Nilandhoo constituency, Gan constituency, south-Fuvahmulah constituency, Feydhoo constituency and south-Maafannu constituency.
