Acting Commissioner of Police Mohamed ‘MC’ Hameed has met with commissioned police officers on Thursday.

While the Maldives Police Service announced that the meeting took place via twitter, it did not share details of the meeting.

Hameed was dismissed following allegations of disclosing classified information, regarding the events surrounding the unexpected resignation of former president Mohamed Nasheed in February 2012.

While he was dismissed from the post, charges were not raised against him.

Civil Court had, back in 2013, ruled to reinstate Hameed, further ordering the police to pay Hameed's salary and allowances from this dismissal date of 7th August 2012, to restore the gap of his absence from service.

However, police refused to reinstate him and had instead filed an appeal case at the High Court, which overturned the Civil Court ruling.

Earlier in December, ruling "wrongful termination", Supreme Court had ordered the Maldives Police Service to reinsate Hameed.

Following the Supreme Court order, Hameed, who was former a Chief Superintendent of the Police Intelligence, was appointed as the Assistant Commissioner of Police on the 04th of December.

Hameed, who is wedded to First Lady Fazna Ahmed’s sibling, was promoted to the post of Acting Police Commissioner on Wednesday after the dismissal of Hamdhoon Rasheed.
