An individual has been arrested for alleged drug smuggling.
Police reports that the individual arrested during an operation to end drug smuggling held by police stations in Guraidhoo and Maafushi islands, is a 51-year-old man.
RaajjeMV understands that the arrest was made on the 03rd of December upon an intelligence report that the individual was attempting to smuggle narcotics into a resort on a vessel en route from capital city Male’.
Seized were two rubber packets suspected to contain narcotic substances.
Guraidhoo Magistrate Court has since remanded the 51-year-old by 10 days and the island’s police station is currently investigating the case.
