Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF)’s Coastguard has begun refloating a vessel that ran aground a patch of reef early Wednesday.

According to MNDF, the landing craft measuring 126 feet, has run aground a patch of reef near Anantara Veli Resort.

MNDF reports that the incident was reported to them at around 2am on Wednesday.

RaajjeMV understands that three Maldivians and one expatriate was onboard the landing craft at the time of the incident. However, no injuries have been reported.

MNDF has been working to tug the vessel since Wednesday afternoon.
