Two more PPM lawmakers join JP
MP Mohamed Hussain and MP Azhan Fahmy joined JP at a special ceremony on Sunday night

JP’s parliamentary group now consists of 11 members

Two more lawmakers of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) have joined government coalition partner Jumhooree Party (JP).

Kanditheemu MP Mohamed Hussain and Maavah MP Azhan Fahmy joined JP at a special ceremony on Sunday night.

The two lawmakers handed over their membership forms to JP leader Qasim Ibrahim at the ceremony.

MP Mohamed Hussain was elected with JP’s ticket in 2014 but switched to then-ruling PPM in 2015.

While the parliamentary election draws near, five MPs have joined JP. They are: Bilehdhoo MP Ahmed Mubeen, Isdhoo MP Ahmed Rasheed, Dhangethi MP Ilham Ahmed, Hanimaadhoo MP Hussain Shaheed, and Nolhivaram MP Hussain Areef.

JP’s parliamentary group now consists of 11 members.
