Adhaalath Party (AP) leader Imran Abdulla has said that the people who voted for the opposition coalition would not forgive the party leaders if they do not hold onto the partnership in the next five years.

Giving his first press conference since the suspension of his sentence on Thursday, the opposition leader said that his top priority is to secure the forthcoming government, and urged all party leader to stick together.

He said that the coalition had won the last election by working together, making sacrifices, and upholding the good of the nation over personal benefit.

Imran, who was jailed over his involvement in the mass 'May Day' rally in May 2015, said that he will not consider himself free until every protestor arrested at the rally is released and vowed to do whatever it takes to free them.
