The Supreme Court will be giving its verdict on the parliamentary dismissal of four MPs.

Last year, the Elections Commission declared the dismissal of 12 MPs over a floor-crossing ban.

Their appeal hearings are being presided over by the Supreme Court’s full bench.

On Monday, the court will first be giving its verdict regarding the dismissal of South-Thinadhoo MP Abdulla Ahmed at 9:45am. South-Mahchangolhi MP Abdulla Sinan’s hearing has been scheduled for 10:45am and Dhangethi MP Ilham Ahmed’s hearing has been scheduled for 1:15pm. Lastly, North-Thinadhoo Saudhulla Hilmy’s verdict will be heard at 2:15pm.

On October 8, the apex court declared that four of the 12 MPs have been re-seated and the lawmakers have attended Sunday’s sitting, the first one after a year, three months, and 15 days.
