The State Trading Organization has lifted its retail price for petrol and diesel.

The price of petrol and diesel was lifted by 20 laari, the organization said on Thursday. A liter of petrol will now cost MVR 11.39 and a liter of diesel will cost MVR 12.09.

This is the second price change to local fuel prices this month, and the seventh thus far this year. The last price change was also by 20 laari.

In May, the price petrol was hiked by 31 laari, and was sold for MVR 10.42 per liter. Then, diesel was sold for 11.23 per liter.
