President Abdulla Yameen has stated that the one thing he couldn’t comprehend by the end of his term is how people’s thinking changes so easily.
Speaking to journalists at a press conference on Wednesday, President Yameen said that how people’s thinking changes so quickly is the one thing he couldn’t understand during his five-year term in office. He further said that he doesn’t understand what influences people’s thinking to change either.
Moreover, the outgoing President asserted that he believes a lot of progress was brought to the nation during his administration in various sectors such as health and economy.
“The most important thing for the small island state is upholding it’s peace and maintain security. The entire political system revolves around peace and security” said the outgoing President.
President Yameen, who lost his bid for re-election in the Presidential polls held on the 23rd of September, further stressed that everyone puts their self-seeking arrogance before public peace, highlighting that measures are taken under due procedure.
The leader famed for his autocratic grip over the nation, further asserted that he came into power to deliver justice and he had carried out all of his schemes and projects were carried out within the legal ambit.
