Employees at the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) have on Thursday filed a petition regarding their concern over the government’s decision to issue plots of land from capital city Male’s suburban extension Hulhumale’s Phase II.
RaajjeMV understands that 171 employees had signed the petition, including Chief Financial Officer, Legal Director as well as Planning Director of the corporation. Moreover, civil engineers, assistant directors, finance officers and directors had also signed the petition.
The petition was filed at the Anti-Corruption Commission, the Audit Office and the Finance Ministry.
While a total of 19 points were noted in the petition, it noted that the 400 plots of land in the recently reclaimed 'Phase 2' area in Hulhumalé is being issued at a lower price and that it will be a major loss for the company.
