President-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met lawmaker Ahmed Faris Maumoon, who was on Sunday evening released on bail.
While Solih met with the recently freed politician on Monday, General Shiyam as well as former Acting Commissioner of Police Abdulla Nawaz had met with Solih after his momentous win over President Abdulla Yameen in the Presidential polls held on the 23rd of September.
Moreover, the President-elect is also meeting with senior state officials as well as top officials from state institutions.
Some of them include Maldives Monetary Authority’s Governor Ahmed Naseer, employees of telecommunications giant Dhiraagu and senior officials at the Maldives Customs Service.
While Faris, the representative of Dhiggaru constituency in Parliament was released on bail on Sunday, his father and former president Maumoon Abdul Gayoom and Jumhooree Party’s leader Qasim Ibrahim, who has been living in self-exile in Germany, have also been released.
