Elections Commission reveals details of ballot papers for approaching election
264,756 ballot papers were printed
The Presidential Election comprises of 262،135 eligible voters
The election is on upcoming Sunday

The Elections Commission of the Maldives has revealed the details of ballot papers for the upcoming Presidential Election slated for Sunday.

An announcement made by the Elections Commission on Wednesday states that a total of 264,756 ballot papers had been printed, which includes an additional 2,621 ballot papers while this year’s Presidential Election comprises of 262,135 eligible voters.

The commission revealed that the ballot papers had been printed from local business, M7 Print.

The Presidential Elections act of the Maldives states that the number of printed ballot papers must be announced publicly.

While the Presidential Election is slated for the 23rd of September, the only two candidates vying for Presidency are candidate number one, incumbent President Abdulla Yameen vying for re-election, and candidate number two, Joint Opposition’s candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
