EC announces voting hours abroad for September polls
 
The election is slated for 23rd September, less than a fortnight away
 
Polling stations are to be placed in India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and England

The Elections Commission of the Maldives has announced the voting hours for countries in which polling stations will be placed for the Maldives Presidential Election slated for 23rd September.

In an announcement made on Sunday, the commission revealed that voting will begin in India and Sri Lanka at 08:30 a.m. their time and that voting will conclude by 04:30 p.m. The announcement further reads that voting will begin in London, England at 09:30 a.m. and conclude at 05:30 p.m. London time. Moreover, voting will begin in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia at 11:00 a.m. and conclude by 07:00 p.m Malaysia time.

Ballot boxes are to be placed in these four countries for the upcoming September election. While two ballot boxes are to be placed in Colombo, Sri Lanka, one is to be placed each in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia, Trivandrum, India and London, England, the total of polling stations reaching five.

The Presidential Election of 2018 comprises of 262,141 eligible voters and the EC is to place 472 ballot boxes across the nation.
