Maldives Transport Authority has appealed to the public to wear helmets when operating two-wheeled vehicles on the newly opened Sina-Malé Bridge.
In a public announcement made on Friday, it said that wearing helmets when using two-wheeled vehicles on the bridge 'is highly requested'.
The speed limit on Sina-Malé Bridge is between 25-50km/h, it added.
The authority further explained on how to use the bridge, including that the fenced lanes on both sides is for walking and running.
Last week, housing ministry's media consultant Ahmed Fazaal told RaajjeMV that they will be 'strengthening' road regulations before opening the bridge to the public.
