Maldives Police Service (MPS) has officially commenced their security operation dubbed “Blue Wave” prior to the Presidential Election slated for the 23rd of September.
The operation was initiated on Monday morning during a conference meeting held by commanders of the police service.
Speaking to commanders during the initiation ceremony, Acting Commissioner of Police Abdulla Nawaz praised commanders for their hard work, having highlighted that the vital responsibilities entitled to them pose significance and counseled them to ensure everything progresses with peace during the day of the election.
Highlighting that changes and several difficulties will come to their work protocols especially in the outlying atolls, Nawaz urged officers to rise above the difficulties and continue carrying out the responsibilities they are tasked with.
ACP Nawaz had also discussed details of the full-scale exercise to be conducted prior to the day of the election and detailed commanders on how each department must carry out their work accordingly.
Operation Blue Wave’s commander Assistant Commissioner of Police Hamdhoon Rasheed along with executive officers of the MPS and senior officers of various departments had partook in the conference meeting held on Monday morning.
