'Will revive agreements that were terminated unlawfully'

A unity government will ensure the completion of the Maavarulu Airport, pledges Joint Opposition coalition’s Presidential Hopeful Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Solih made this pledge while speaking to residents of Gahdhoo island after having received a warm welcome upon his arrival on Saturday night.

Highlighting that the airport development project in the south of Maldives was initially handed over to former Member of Parliament for Gahdhoo constituency Zahir Adam, Solih said that the government had however, terminated the agreement made with him later on.

Solih further pledged to renew agreements with companies and entities that the state has terminated unlawfully.

While Solih has pledged to complete the development project of Maavarulu Airport during his tenure, he also pledged to complete the airport development project initiated by the state in Faresmaathodhaa island in Gaaf Dhaalu atoll.

With the completion of the Maavarulu Airport, the total number of airports developed in Huvadhu atoll will reach four. They are Kaadehdhoo airport in Gaaf Dhaalu atoll, Kooddoo airport in Gaaf Alif atoll and the two airports to be developed in Maavarulu and Faresmaathodhaa islands.
