Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, the candidate vying for Presidency from the Joint Opposition coalition for the September ballots has on Thursday said that development may be brought to the nation three-fold more if the wasteful expenses by the current administration were to be cut off.

Speaking to coalition supporters in Raa atoll Rasgetheemu island on Thursday, Solih said that development in the nation has been halted because of the several acts of deceit and corruption in the nation. Solih went on to accuse the current administration of selling off reefs and islands of the nation to foreigners at overreaching prices that brought zero profits for Maldivian citizens.
