Elections Commission is seeking interested parties to provide taxi services on election day.
The commission stated that it needs taxis to be available on election day and that interested parties may submit a fee of MVR 3,500 as bid security.
The bid security needs to be from a bank or a financial institute that is accepted by the government. The bid security will be accepted 120 days from the day the window to accept submissions is opened. A performance security is also required and applicants must pay 5% of the contracted amount.
Applicants may receive advance payment upon the submission of a payment guarantee.
The opportunity for bid submissions is opened till the 30th of August.
While the Presidential Election is slated for the 23rd of September, the commission has already sent ballot boxes and polling booths to outlying atolls. The EC is to place a total of 491 ballot boxes across the nation and this year’s election comprises of 262,141 eligible voters.
