MP Faisal Naseem, the Joint Opposition running mate, and his campaign team have received a warm reception in AA. Ukulhas on Friday morning.
To prepare for their arrival, the locals decorated the island entirely in yellow, the color of main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
During his trip, Faisal met with supporters of the opposition coalition parties and listened to their concerns.
Speaking with supporters, Faisal vowed that the Joint Opposition government will be honest and will not force government employees to support a particular politician.
He also said that citizens will not have to join political parties to receive medical insurance and that the Joint Opposition will provide basic services.
Faisal and his team visited Bodufulhaadhoo earlier on Friday and are set to hold a large ceremony in Thoddoo later that night.
