A man who was reported missing after having set off from Lhohi island in Noonu atoll on a small dinghy, has been found.
According to Maldives National Defense Force, Hussain Adnan, 30, had set off on the small dinghy on Wednesday night and was reported missing at around 02:00 a.m. later that night to MNDF’s Maritime Rescue Coordination Center, following which rescue officers had dispatched a search patrol on ground and air.
MNDF reports that the man was found via air search and that rescue officers had taken him to Manadhoo island of the same atoll onboard the coastguard launch.
The last time the man was contacted was at 01:30 a.m. on Wednesday and at the time the dinghy was somewhere in between Manadhoo and Lhohi islands.
MNDF also reports that the man, when found, was in good health.
