Acting Commissioner of Police Abdulla Nawaz has met with officers of the Maldives Police Service’s Special Operations unit on Tuesday.
Speaking at the meeting held at the Iskandar building, ACP Nawaz praised officers of the Special Operations department for their significant work, adding that they will face immense obstacles in their line of work.
However, Nawaz added that while there are several obstacles, officers must rise above them to serve the citizens with a smile across their faces, adding that officers must carry out their duties to the nation and its citizens, urging them to carry out their responsibilities without any hindrances.
The ACP further instructed officers to ensure everything goes smoothly on the day of the election as well as to work closely with the citizens as well as to learn what must be done to ensure security and peace during election day in outlying atolls as well as capital city Male’.
Expressing his hope that every commander’s objective is for ensuring that the September election concludes peacefully in accordance with the law, Nawaz stated that he hopes that the police operation on the day of the elections proceeds and concludes successfully.
Operation Blue Wave’s commander Assistant Commissioner of Police Hamdhoon Rasheed and Deputy Commander in Chief Superintendent of Police Abdulla Shareef as well as executive officers of the MPS joined Tuessday’s ceremony along with commanders allocated to be dispatched to outlying atolls to maintain security in the outlying atolls as well as the commanders who is to be active in Male’ during the day of the election.
