President Abdulla Yameen has that he will not allow even a minute of boredom for the opposition parties and that they will have to listen to him.
Speaking at the ceremony to inaugurate the sewerage ceremony in Th. Buruni on Tuesday, President Yameen said that the opposition will have to respond to his statements in his trip to thaa atoll.
However, President Yameen is seen to be the more interested in responding to statements made by Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, the opposition coalition’s presidential candidate.
Responding to Solih’s pledge to make Kulhudhuffushi a city during his trip to the island on Monday night, President Yameen acknowledged the large population of Kulhudhuffushi, numbering 9,000, and said that it would be automatically designated a city if it reaches 10,000 citizens.
President Yameen also said that it would be difficult to run a country with a government made up by a coalition of parties, since they would have to abide by each other’s own particular interests.
