A vessel has collided into the base of the lighthouse at Hulhulé island.

The Maldives National Defence Force said that the incident occurred at about 4:55 am on Saturday .

Rescue officers say that three crewmembers and three passengers were onboard the vessel at the time, although none of them had been injured.

Although no one was injured in the accident, the vessel had been heavily damaged.
