President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has made appointments to some state positions.

The President appointed Dr. Suneena Rasheed native to Gaaf Dhaal atoll Rathafandhoo island to the post of Vice at the Ministry of Gender and Family

Dr. Suneena is one of the first two females to have had earned PhDs on Maldivian soil for the first time in the history of Maldives education. Suneena previously held the post of Supervisor as well as a teacher of Chemistry studies at Center for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) in capital city Male’.

President Yameen further appointed Mausooma Yoosuf as a member to the Commission on State Assets Recovery after having sacked Khadheeja Hussain from the post.
