The police service has held the closing ceremony of the third taxi driver training programme aimed at Male’ taxi drivers.

The programme was hosted by the traffic police road safety unit from July 15 to 18.

The conclusion ceremony was held on the night of July 18 at the Iskandar police station’s multi-purpose hall.

The Master of Ceremonies was Internal Security Command’s Deputy Head Superintendent of Police Moosa Ali.

At the ceremony, Moosa said that taxi drivers attend an important and hardworking job. Noting that they have to work closely with ordinary citizens, Moosa said that it was crucial for taxi drivers to be disciplined and courteous.

Moosa also asked taxi drivers to report any illegal behavior they see in public, which may lead to a reduction in crime. He also requested the drivers to respect the traffic laws and regulations.

At the ceremony, 51 participants were awarded certificates for completing the programme.

The series of programmes has been split into different parts of the year.
