Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has reported that a speedboat has been found overturned near Vaadhoo resort of Male’ atoll late Saturday evening.

Speaking to the media, MNDF’s media official Captain Ibrahim Azim revealed that they had not received any reports of a person being onboard.

According to the media official, MNDF had received the report of the capsized speedboat near Vaadhoo resort at around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday. Azim further said that the coastguard are active in righting the speedboat.

RaajjeMV also understands that the incident was reported to the MNDF by a vessel travelling from capital city Male’ to Anantara Resort, “Shaahee 3”.

MNDF is yet to identify which island or company the speedboat belongs to.
