The Elections Commission of the Maldives will set up a total of 452 polling stations for the presidential elections slated for September.
While the commission announced this on Sunday, they cautioned that the amount of total polling stations will likely increase after voter re-registration.
The Elections Commission is to set up 56 polling stations for voters resident in capital city Malé, a total of 72 for voters in the out lying atolls and 31 in the southernmost Addu City.
The commission will set up seven polling stations in resorts, six in industrial islands and four in state-run prisons and detention facilities.
